Sunset no.2, original oil painting

This piece was painted from a source image photographed by, and with the kind permission of, resident Anglesey photographer, Alex Davies. 

Bathed in warm peach, gold and violet tones, the composition centres on the sun's luminous reflection as it stretches across still water. Soft layers of colour dissolve into one another, creating a dreamlike atmosphere where sky and sea appear almost indistinguishable. delicate marks and subtle details add movement and depth, while the tranquil horizon evokes the quiet stillness of a sunset lingering at the end of the day.

Painted with layers of richly textured oil paint, the compact square format makes it equally suited to displaying alone or alongside other works from the collection.

This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting created in professional-grade oils on a 10" x 10" gallery-wrapped, solid wood frame canvas with a depth of 1.5". The edges are fully painted, allowing the  piece to be displayed without framing - hanging fixings are already attached, so it arrives ready to hang.
